Frequently asked questions.

What is your photography style?

My approach is natural, relaxed, and documentary-led. I focus on capturing real moments as they happen—genuine emotions, laughter, and all the in-between bits—rather than overly posed or staged images. I’ll give a little guidance when needed, but mostly I let the day unfold.

Do you pose us for photos?

Only lightly! I’ll guide you into flattering light and give simple prompts so you don’t feel awkward, but nothing stiff or forced. Think of it more as gentle direction rather than posing.

We’re really awkward on camera - can you help?

My specialty. I use a “no-pressure” approach with gentle direction so you forget I’m there within ten minutes.

Do you take traditional family group shots?

Yes. We’ll pre-plan a list of 6-10 key groups (or more). This normally takes around 20 minutes so you can get back to the party.

Can we request specific shots?

Of course. I’m happy to work with a short list of must-have group photos. For the rest of the day, I focus on capturing moments naturally rather than working from a checklist.

Do you edit all the photos?

Yes, every image you receive is carefully edited in my signature style—natural, timeless, and true to the moment. I don’t deliver unedited RAW files.

How many photos will we receive?

Usually 400–600 fully edited, high-resolution images for a full day. Every wedding is different, but I always aim to tell the full story of your day.

How long until we see our photos?

You’ll receive a small preview within a few days, with your full gallery delivered within 6–8 weeks (often sooner outside peak season).

Is it definitely you shooting and editing our wedding?

Yes, 100%. I don’t outsource to associate photographers.

What areas do you cover?

I’m based in North Wales; covering the North West, Cheshire, Liverpool, and beyond.

Do you travel?

Yes, absolutely. I’m happy to travel across the UK and beyond. Travel within a certain distance is usually included—anything further can be quoted depending on location.

Can we share the photos online?

Absolutely! You’re welcome to share your images with friends and family. I just ask that they aren’t altered with filters and that you credit me where possible.

Do you shoot alone or bring a second photographer?

I usually work solo, which helps keep things unobtrusive and natural. A second photographer can be added if you’d like extra coverage (for larger weddings or both partners getting ready in different locations).

How far in advance should we book?

Most couples book 12–24 months in advance, especially for peak summer dates. If your wedding is sooner, it’s always worth asking—sometimes I do have last-minute availability.

Can we meet before booking?

Yes—I always recommend a quick call or coffee if possible. It’s important you feel comfortable, as I’ll be with you for a big part of your day.

Do you have insurance and backup gear?

Yes. I carry professional indemnity/public liability insurance and always shoot with backup cameras and lenses.

What happens if it rains?

No problem at all—some of the most beautiful, atmospheric photos happen in unexpected weather. I’ll always have a backup plan and adapt to whatever the day brings.

What if you’re ill or can’t attend?

In the very unlikely event that I’m unable to attend, I have a trusted network of experienced photographers I can call on, and I’ll ensure your day is still covered.

How do we book?

A booking fee secures your date. The remaining balance is typically due a few weeks before the wedding.
